SkyDrive offers a reliable and affordable direct shuttle service between Queenstown and Wanaka stopping at Queenstown Airport.
The SkyDrive Airport Express travels each way between Queenstown and Wanaka in comfortable new Compact Coaches. Each service stops at Queenstown Airport to uplift or disembark Wanaka passengers.
NOTE. SkyDrive is an intercity service and does not provide shuttle services between Queenstown and Queenstown airport. Please book/use one of the many local bus services to complete this trip.

How do I buy a ticket?

You can purchase a SkyDrive ticket from our coach driver (cash only, no card payments accepted)
Do I have to print out my SkyDrive ticket?
Your SkyDrive ticket(s) will have a QR Code that the driver can be scanned from your smartphone or tablet, or you can print your emailed ticket out. The driver can also search your name on his online manifest.
Do SkyDrive tickets expire?
Your SkyDrive ticket is only valid for the booked date unless changed before that date, see below.
Can I change my SkyDrive ticket time / date?
If you wish to adjust or change your booking or wish to cancel it, contact bookings@skydrive.co.nz.
Do I have to select a time and date when buying a SkyDrive Return Ticket?
Yes. the SkyDrive booking system requires you to have a date and time to process the booking. You can adjust it by emailing us as explained above.
Can I get a refund on my SkyDrive Ticket?
REFUND, CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING POLICY
If you wish to adjust or change your booking or wish to cancel it, contact bookings@skydrive.co.nz
When the passenger cancels up to 24 hours before the departing time, the passenger is entitled to a refund of 80% of your booking total to cover admin, booking engine, and credit card processing fees.
- When cancelled by the passenger within 24 hours from the departing time, the passenger is not entitled to a refund.
- Reschedule requests can be made, free of charge, up to 24 hours before departing time. Applications done within 24 hours from departure time are subject to be declined and not refunded.
Missed Departures and Connections
- It is your responsibility to be at the correct departing point (according to your booking) at the recommended time of 15 minutes before the time displayed on your ticket. The service departs on time, and if you miss it for any given reason, you will not be entitled to a refund.
- We are not responsible for third party connections travelling times. Even when we can use our service to connect to others, we will only be accountable for our part of this transportation, not issuing any refunds or taking any responsibilities over what happens with services provided by a third party.

Queenstown SkyDrive services the Queenstown/Wanaka route and stops at a few main centres between the two cities – see the timetable for details.
How long does SkyDrive take to get to the airport?
FROM WANAKA If going via the Crown Range and Cromwell from Wanaka the trip takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes to Queenstown Airport.
NOTE: Travel times may be weather dependent.
Does SkyDrive have stops along the route?
SkyDrive Routes are either
Queenstown Cental > Queenstown Airport > Frankton Bus Hub > Cromwell > Wanaka
or
Queenstown Central > Queenstown Airport > Frankton Bus Hub > SH6 Crown Range Carpark > Cardrona Hotel > Wanaka
In Wanaka the SkyDrive service stops at the Wanaka Medical Centre and the Lakefront Bus Stop.

Where are the SkyDrive bus stops at Queenstown Airport?
The SkyDrive bus stop is located centrally in the pick-up area outside the terminal and is identified with prominent signs. Note: SkyDrive is an intercity service - it does not take passengers connecting Queenstown Airport to Queenstown or Queenstown to Queenstown Airport. You should use one of the many local bus services to complete that trip.
Where is the SkyDrive stop in city centres?
Until the 20th December 2024 the Skydrive central Queenstown temporary bus stop is located at 61 Stanley St.
The Skydive Wanaka bus stop is located at the Lakefront bus stop, 100 Ardmore Street.
How long does the SkyDrive bus stop for?
SkyDrive buses stop just long enough to collect the waiting passengers, so please plan to be at the bus stop 10 mins before the official pickup time.
Luggage & Restrictions
Does SkyDrive have luggage restrictions?
There is a luggage allocation included in your ticket of one piece weighing no more than 23kg per paying customer. SkyDrive passengers can bring as much luggage as they require however you should book extra luggage/sports equipment/bikes or cargo ahead of time and carriage is subject to space availability. Bikes must be packed in a bike bag or travel pack. Additional charges will apply for extra luggage pieces – see timetable for details.
Can I bring food on a SkyDrive bus?
SkyDrive ask that our passengers finish their food before boarding or wait until departing the bus to consume food. It helps ensure that every passenger has a pleasant ride. It includes takeaway drinks such as coffee. Water is permitted in a resealable bottle.
Are guide dogs permitted on a SkyDrive bus?
SkyDrive welcomes aboard passengers accompanied by service dogs or disability assistance dogs. You might have to sit at designated areas depending on the allocated vehicle.
Are dogs permitted to travel on SkyBus?
If you wish to bring a pet/dog it must be in a secure travel cage. Price to carry is $10.
Can I bring children on a SkyDrive bus with me?
SkyDrive welcomes children of all ages and those under four years travel free. You can have them on your lap or in a front-pack carrier.
